Based in the East Midlands, UK, Compound Dubz is the vinyl-focused extension of Compound Audio, built for artists, labels and DJs who want their music translated to wax with precision and respect for the culture.

With over 20 years of experience across DJing, production, mixing, mastering and vinyl, Compound Dubz brings together the technical knowledge of audio production with the hands-on craft of real-time vinyl cutting.

Working across underground and established scenes, we bridge the gap between digital production and physical format, delivering high-quality vinyl cuts that retain the energy, weight and intent of the original record.

BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE

Founded by Dapz, whose career in music spans over 20 years, Compound Dubz is built on experience gained from both sides of the studio, from making and playing records to mixing, mastering and preparing music for physical formats.

Starting out DJing at just 13 and producing by 16, Dapz developed a deep understanding of how music should feel, not just how it measures on a screen.

That experience has carried through every stage of his work, from studio production and mastering to the final groove cut.

Compound Audio, established in 2014, remains the mastering and audio side of the operation, while Compound Dubz focuses on bringing that knowledge directly into the physical format.

FROM STUDIO TO WAX

What began as a mixing and mastering service naturally evolved into vinyl.

After years of restoring, remastering and re-cutting classic tracks from the 90s and early 2000s, the demand for direct-to-vinyl services grew, particularly from artists, DJs and labels wanting greater control over how their music translated to a physical record.

To take things further, Dapz travelled to Germany to complete professional vinyl cutting training before bringing the process in-house with a VR T560 cutting lathe.

Today, every record is cut in real time, with the audio and physical cutting process considered together rather than treated as separate stages.

THE COMPOUND DUBZ APPROACH

Every cut is treated as its own project, not a preset process.

Careful attention is given to:

• Translation from digital to analogue
• Low-end control and groove stability
• High-frequency management for clean playback
• Stereo width, phase and overall balance
• Maintaining punch, clarity and musical intent

The goal is simple: records that sound right in the club, on the system and on the turntable.
